Upon our arrival to Vietnam, we immediately traveled to the northern city of Ha Giang to embark on a 4-day motorcycle tour of the region. Stay tuned for an extended video showcasing the complete trip – for now, we’ll give a preview via one of the stops we made on the first day.
Lùng Khúy Cave is located nearby the village of Quan Ba. The main cavern is about 300m in length, and is full of incredible stalactites and rock formations. There is a man-made pathway (about 1km) leading you through the whole cave, protecting both visitors and the fragile environment itself.
But that’s not all – to even get to the cave opening, you first park your motorbike in a nearby valley and hike up a 1+ km trail which offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape. We were panting by the midpoint, however our guides and several local farmers (both old and young) passing us by made it look easy. The trail itself isn’t too difficult, but you’ve got to be ready for the altitude!
