Igidae Coastal Trail – The Best Hike in Busan

Posted onApril 15, 2023April 10, 2023 HIke, korea, nature Comments are off 90 Views

Despite its population of 3.5+ million, it is surprisingly easy to find nature in Busan. Case in point is the Igidae Coastal Trail, easily reachable by several bus/metro lines.

The trail follows a 4.7km (3 mile) path along the rugged coastline, with stairs (so, so many stairs) tracing up and down the cliff sides. Along the way you’re treated to spectacular views of the Eastern Sea, as well as the Haundae district in the distance.

The surrounding wilderness was historically used for military purposes, and was only opened to the public in 1993. As a result, the area contains some of the densest forest you can find so close to the big city. This hike ranks as one of the very best we’ve taken on our trip.

Hopefully you agree – enjoy!
