One of the best things you can do in an unfamiliar city is spend some time just wandering around at your own pace. This doesn’t need to be completely aimless – you can have an end destination or a specific landmark to see in mind – but usually, if something you’re trying to reach is in walking distance it’s a good idea to just walk.
We took one of our days in Hanoi to explore around our location in the Old Quarter – we saw a several of the main “sights,” but also stumbled across some cool places along the way. Below is some photography we took during our exploration.
Ngac Son Temple
Tortoise Tower

Hanoi Opera House

Hanoi Old Citadel
Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (From Afar)

Bridge Across Truc Bach Lake, and Tran Quoc Pagoda
Pretty Plants
Awesome Architecture

And Communist Propaganda/Artworks
Being in Hanoi, we naturally needed to stop for a coffee or two:

And finally, while visiting a pagoda we came across this poster illustrating some examples of the laws of Karma:

Moral of the story is wherever you find yourself in your own travels, make sure to take some time to just go exploring – you never know what you’ll stumble across!
