Combining a few of our smaller excursions in Bali for this post/video. None of these had enough footage/story to justify an individual post, but are definitely worth publishing – so here we are!
First up was a trip north from Ubud to Tegallalang, to an area famous for terraced rice paddies. We spent a day exploring this area, which also includes several swings, zip lines, and carved statues.
Next up was a trip south from Ubud, into the surrounding jungle to visit several waterfalls in the area. One – Tegenungan – you’ll see is quite a popular tourist destination, while the others are decidedly less so. We even had to traverse a bamboo bridge to reach one of them. We took our motorbike on this adventure, and (fun fact) actually filmed our Ubud motorbike video on our way home from the last spot.
Last but not least was a visit to the White Sand Beach next to Padangbai, on Bali’s east coast. This hidden gem was within walking distance of the port town and boasted clean, clear water and perfect white sand. The waves were even good enough for an attempt at bodysurfing.
Besides the one waterfall, none of the locations in this video are “world famous” tourism spots you’ll see in magazine articles about Bali (though there are a lot of places setup to take good Instagram photos). Just goes to show the world is absolutely packed with beautiful/interesting places, easily accessible with a bit of exploration. Enjoy!
