Detour – Bukchon Hanok Village

As we journeyed between palaces, we took a small detour to explore one of Seoul’s several traditional “Hanok” neighborhoods. The village – which still houses normal residences – has been preserved with winding alleyways and small streets to show what the urban environment looked like ~600 years ago.

Bukchon is the most famous of Seoul’s Hanok neighborhoods, but there are several others throughout the city.
